With North Kansas City Public Library's
Book Discussion Groups for grades 3-8
North Kansas City Public Library is currently the proud home of three children's book discussion groups. They follow the school calendar, with new signups each fall and no meetings during the summer months.
Our Mother Daughter Book Group; for girls in 3rd-5th grades and their moms, meets 5 times a year to discuss a girl-centered book, share snacks, and take part in themed activities. Our group is currently running at capacity, but if you would like to join the waiting list or sign up for next season, please contact Rachel at 816-221-3360 x1010.
Book Buddies; for kids in grades 5 & 6, will have their next meeting on Tuesday, April 24th at 7pm to discuss "Around the World in 100 Days" by Gary Blackwood. So far this year the group has read "The Joy of Spooking", "The Christmas Rat", and "Juliet Dove, Queen of Love". Our discussions are always lively, and our book choices are varied! For more information please contact Rachel at 816-221-3360 x1010.
Reading Rascals; for tweens in 7th and 8th grades, will meet next on Wednesday, April 18th at 4pm. We will discuss "Catalyst" by Anne McCaffery and Elizabeth Lynn Scarborough. Past books have included "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children" and "The Postcard". We run the gamut from fantasy and sci-fi to humor and realistic fiction. For more information please contact Rachel at 816-221-3360 x1010.
